As far as we know, the Backstreet Boys, unlike Menudo, don't have a mandatory retirement age. So we'll assume the aging boy band's oldest member, 33-year-old Kevin Richardson, really is leaving to pursue "other interests."

The Backstreet Boys are by far one of the most famous boy bands in music history. They've sold over sixty million albums worldwide and have left millions of screaming girls love sick along the way. These five heartthrobs have managed to stay together for over eleven years but have had to overcome health scares, drug addiction, and several tragic deaths along the way. If you thought being a pop star was easy ... had better guess again.

To appease our culture's tireless addiction to nostalgia, VH1 will spend next week counting down the 100 best songs of the 1990's. Starting Monday, the former music channel will return to its roots, and air hour long countdown segments each night of the week. The list was generated from a user poll on VH1's website, which tabulated over 600,000 votes.

Here's what I find ironic (Alanis Morissette pun, w00t!): Flavor of Love is one of the most successful shows in VH1 history. However, Public Enemy only made it to #92 on the list. Oh VH1 audience, you are so fickle...
