What's there to say? I've been a fan since I was about 13 years old. Maybe it's because I had just hit puberty, I don't know. All I know is that back then, a new world had uncovered itself to me.

Soon, every inch of my bedroom wall would be covered with their faces. The only music playing from my walkman and stereoset was Backstreet Boys. I would hog the TV to play their videoclips and tapes. I collected magazines with interviews, posters and stickers. Even if only one name was mentioned in one sentence, I would buy the magazine because it was Backstreet Boys related.

Oh my god, back then I was crazy enough to sleep at the ticket office, one night before the concert tickets would be sold. I would go to their concert, sleep the night before there just to be sure I'd have a good spot; front row. I've been to almost every concert they had here in The Netherlands.

You could say I was obsessed. I even had my own lil website with fanfictions and sketches. To me back in those days, the Backstreet Boys meant almost everything to me.

Now that I am older, I no longer have my walls covered with a single poster. I don't have the urge to want to know everything about their personal lives anymore. I won't sleep at a ticket office ever again, though I would feel bummed if I missed out on a concert.

But there's just something about them. It's like a tradition, almost. I still tend to squeel like a new born pig when they release a new song. I squeeled like a pig about a week ago, when they first aired Inconsolable. I thought I had grown over that, but I haven't. And I doubt I'll ever will.

They are part of my childhood. They inspired me to write my own songs, stories, poetry. They inspired me to make my own music. Yeah, maybe it's a disease but I don't want to be cured; I'm still hooked that's for sure
