I became a Backstreet Boy fan when I was 9 years old. My fourth grade teacher gave our class a Backstreet Boys for the Fans CD for Christmas. I had never heard of BSB before, but when I popped that CD into my player I knew I would be a fan for life. Their songs were so charismatic, I loved everything about it, the lyrics, the music and the voices that sung them. I loved how there was so much behind the surface of the songs, so much meaning and emotion. Their voices sent me to a new state of mind, I felt like there was only me, surrounded by lifelong friends who shared my feelings and thoughts. When I started to read bios and information about Nick, AJ, Brain, Kevin, and Howie I learned more about the people behind the power in the music. They were normal people who just wanted to share their outlook on life with everyone. They each had their own separate lives from each other and that made them even more inspirational. They did everything in their power to help those in need. Apart from fame, pain, and sorrow they fought their own battles and overcame them with courage. They taught all of us how love and friendship can overcome anything, they didn’t let fame change who they really were and what they stood for. They never gave up, not themselves, not on each other , not on their music. They were never gone, and they let people know that. So with every breath that I have I will proudly let everyone know that I'm a fan of some incredible gentlemen who proved that nothing is impossible.
