I'm a fan because back in 1998, a co-worker of mine introduced me to this wonderful new 5 part harmony group a few months before my father passed away from complications of an aortic hernia. I was only 17, but the Boys' music was one of the first things I turned to in November of '98 after my father passed. Since the music was uplifting, and the Boys' gave a fresh face to music, I was instantly hooked and delighted.. With charm, good looks, and a message that being brothers was more than just being in a group, I appreciated the music more as I listened. I support the Boys' in everything they do, professionally and personally. I will always be a fan of the music they make.
As an ambition of mine, I chose for my senior choir solo project to sing one of the Boys' songs in front of my class. I'm both proud and honored to be able to have blended my voice so perfectly into 'I Want It That Way' to not only have aced that solo, but to have been the only soloist in my choir teacher's history to have been able to blend into a 5 part harmony.
I was finally able to see the Boys' in a concert setting in December of 2005, at Jingle Ball in Chicago, Illinois. It was definitely a turning point in my life, being able to see the group who had helped me cope with the loss of my father 7 years before. I met others from the Weird World Club and enjoyed meeting so many others who share the same passion for the music as I do.
I will forever remain a fan of the Backstreet Boys for several reasons. I truly believe that their music has helped me achieve my dreams by helping to lift my spirits when I'm down, and the passion they have with the music is so great that it keeps me going when I want to stop. I've also started writing fiction novels stemming from fantasy fiction writers that I bonded with over the Boys. In fact, I met one of my best friends over fantasy fiction about the Boys' and the bond grows stronger as time goes by. Good friends are hard to come by, and she is one of the few in my life.
In conclusion, I will always be a fan, and will support the Boys' no matter what. I thank them for every day that I can wake up and see the good things in life, and not the years of sacrifice I chose to help my family out when they needed it the most after my father's passing.
