I suspected that's what happened with the wheatgrass ... and seriously .. don't feel about about not knowing what it is ... I can't say I know exactly what it is ... but it's popular with celebs .. it's supposed to be really good for you ... it's green ... and you usually just take a shot of it or mix it into some kind of smoothie

I also heard it has some other "benefits" .. but this is based on SATC so ... it has to be taken with a grain of salt ...lol ... although I'm sure that's not what Nick wants it for =D

I think the Backstreet Boys did nothing wrong. Everybody that does concerts or movies has a list of things they would like in the room. I think Trace was just upset because he wanted them to make it really easy to win the Celebrity Apprentice. Also like a lot of you said the way it was edited made it try to look bad too.

ok ... so I seem to have been a bit misunderstood ... I thought I made it clear wasn't saying anything bad about them ... I just think that there is a possibility that they really did ask for that stuff and the people involved with the Apprentice made it seem like a bigger deal then it was .. because really ... it's not a big deal ... I don't think they really asked for anything that unusual or extravagent (by celebrities standards)

However I will consider the possibility that they were acting and if that is the case ...I will admit that I was wrong and props to them for doing a great job ... I'm mature enough to do that and hope that you can all be as well .. because I really didn't come here to argue .. I was simply expressing an opinion

pamlittrell...what is funny is that appart from Nick...you are in love with people who are older than me.. and that are acting like they are a bunch of spoiled little brats. are you kidding me. and you think that sending me insults online is going to make a difference in my world. all I'm saying is that for a charity auction, your 'boys' acted like a bunch of idiots..and if this really pisses you off this much, then there must be some truth to what I am saying cause truth hurts. lol

I agree with singerbabe... they can act, their music videos are an act and that's talent. and i've watched the Apprentice episode again, and you can tell that's not who they really are. yeah, it was edited to add more drama. but when u look closely at their faces, in some parts, they try not to smile but then they do and they'll look at each other after one of 'em said a comment and they agree with each other. it's not the first time we saw them play like that... if it was real, Brian would have been one to save face in the interview, but he made the "keep the water at room temperature" comment and he wouldn't say that seriously. it was a joke.. just look at their faces and the way they try hard not to straight out laugh at what they were telling Trace or at his reactions. it was pure entertainment that got a lot of talk, which is a good marketing tool by the way! now a lot more people know BSB are still together! and we still have another episode to watch...

D-Cal or whatever...they can act, i've seen them act, and you know what, all those music videos are acting and they do a MAGNIFICANT job at it.

i havn't seen it and i can tell by what a lot of people are talking about that they were just acting because...well exactly what ncrules said. and they shouldn't be apologizing yet. and from the sounds of it the whole wheatgrass thing sounds funny. i want to see it, but i can' t go on youtube at the moment. or whatever.

Unfortunately i didn't watch the show (i tried 2 select a few videos from the link posted by elmore83 but it says "the video u selected is not available in your location" so it's only 4 the US i guess!) Anyway i don't care about what "no longer fans" said, i know the boys, i love them and my love 4 them won't change just because of a few minutes of a reality show (i don't even know why they use 2 call these shows reality shows if there is more acting than reality!!!)

ok ... as a pre-lude to my 1st post here I would like to say ... I LOVE BSB .. I've loved them for 11 years and no tv show is gonna change that ... believe me .. I've seen and heard much worse things about them .. so please don't flip out about what I about to say ...

I have three things to say about this Apprentice thing ...

#1 I'm sorry ... but wheatgrass isn't funny ... it's a real thing ...

#2 The boys weren't acting ... I've seen them act .. and IMO .. they should stick to singing .. lol .. I just don't think they could have "acted" that well ... we have to face the facts ...they are celebrities ... they've been in the business for a long time ... so yes they are "spoiled" for lack of a better word ... they are also human ... and therefore not perfect

With all that being said ....

#3 The show was probably edited to make them seem worse then they are ... you have to remember ... they were trying to fit the Apprentice's agenda ... not the boys ... and the Apprentice's agenda ... as far as I can tell ... is to make Trace look like the "All American" tough guy ... to make the birtish guy look like a snob ... to make "the donald" look like someone people actually care about ...and to make the boys look like little wieners who no one likes ... think about it ... in today's world how much cred would Trace and Trump and all their little buddies over at the Apprentice loose if they were like "Oh ... I love BSB ... they're great!" ...as sad as it is ... it's no longer "cool" to like a boy band ...and the Apprentice is just playing off of that

the full episode is available online at the link i posted, for anyone else who missed it. i saw the clip but i wanted context. people were making it sound like they weren't cooperating with something for charity unless their demands were met or something. people, the boys were fulfilling on a charity event, and they had a list of requests (including things for their band). they were being nice abt their requests too.

trace was frustrated because he had their lists of requests to deal with (not knowing what wheatgrass was!), had some mix up with their road manager person, among the million other things he had to do in short time frame. i highly doubt he really thinks the boys are jerks. the menacing music in the background and their reactions during their discussion with trace are all dramatic editting, as has been said. the fire with which fans have been defending them made me think the editting/acting made them out to be monsters. it was no big deal. i almost see no need to defend them. that's my 2 cents and i'm out.

Thanks cicca! wow, i fail to see how that was demanding. they asked nicely. and the whole wheatgrass thing was actually kind of cute . besides, i also enjoy my water at room temperature . i assume there was more tho... there was something abt nail polish and something for charity? but if this is the basic gist of it, i don't see how that's bad publicity or reason for people to get upset. i also have no intention of arguing with the "fans" that have deserted them. it's not worth it. and rash, flighty little girls bother me anyway.

OK. Everybody has been talking about their reactions to what happened, and referencing random points here and there... but can somebody please explain exactly what happened?? for those of us who didn't see it? from what i've gathered, they were being demanding? but I can't imagine that was the whole thing. or did they refuse to do something for charity? what's the deal someone, please?

from the one time i met them in person they were all incredibly nice. even though it was a very short encounter, for all 10 years i've been a fan, everything i've ever heard any fan who's ever met them say echoed the very same thing. that they are nice, humble, kind, sweet, down to earth and easy going. i won't say that i couldn't stop being a fan of someone after 10 years if they said or did something sufficiently heinous, but it sounds like whatever happened in their 5 minute spot doesn't fit well with what i know of the Boys. I hope someone gives me the full scoop. because it would take a lot more than demanding wheatgrass to convince me that we were all wrong the last 15 years.

I understand everyone's points, and I think there are alot of good ones. everyone on here is entitled to their opinion, so if people want to throw in the towel and no longer be a fan, they have that right. The biggest disappointment for me, is the fact that they acted/were shown as acting so immature. Even if they were being difficult because they were told to be or were fed lines, or whatever, most people won't see it that way. they'll see snotty spoiled celebs. The truth of the matter is, if the boys want to be taken seriously as musicians they need to utilize every chance they get at publicity... Especially when it comes down to a nationally viewed hit TV series. They didn't look good on that episode. they sounded spoiled and that is how America (and anyone else who has the ability to watch the show) will see them. It will give them another reason to 'diss' the boys and blow them off. It would have been nice to see them cooperate a little more and not be so demanding ONLY because the millions of ppl watching this show will not think of it as acting or a challenge. When I first saw it, i was astounded at how immature they seemed, and I'm still a little frustrated, even though there is the possibility they were put up to it, but we won't really know for sure (Though, we've seen the guys at several charity type events, and they were always sweet and easy going, so to see them like this, just doesn't add up). *sighs* anywho, I'm still looking forward to next week's episode, to see how the whole thing turns out (and to maybe see a little vocal action from our Fab. 4.)

I hope it's clear that MY intention isn't to "diss" the Backstreet Boys, who I am clearly a fan of. I just think that many people are confused and somewhat disappointed in what they saw. It's always a let-down when someone you're a fan of doesn't seem to hold the same values that you do--not that I'm saying that they don't--it just seemed that way (through editing or whatever) and I'm afraid that the Boys will acquire a bad reputation for what was seen on the show. I think it just shocked people--especially because they had a fairly good reputation before--and I would like that record to be set straight--that they aren't selfish people.

Clearly selective editing is a large part of what happened on the show--that's obvious. Like I said before, 10-15 years as a fan shouldn't end in 2 minutes of a (badly edited) television show.

Well said Blndfire....I dont want to make trouble or anything but I have noticed that a couple of the people who are slagging the boys off most have only made their profile today which kinda looks to me like they've just got on here to diss the boys and make a nusience of themselves.....

I kind of want to hear a statement from the Backstreet Boys, explaining their behavior. They'd be the only ones to know whether it was the editing that made them look bad, not that they would say that it wasn't. But I would feel MUCH better if there was some statement directly from the Backstreet Boys, or some apology for their behavior or how it looked. As fans, we expect more from them than what was seen on The Apprentice last night.

I always pride myself on being a Backstreet fan and, therefore, I was shocked at what I watched, especially after being so excited that they would be on the show. Obviously my first thought and hope was that it was a joke or staged, especially because they must have known the cameras were rolling.

Until there is some sort of statement, I'll have to try to give them the benefit of the doubt. 10 years of being a fan an having a completely different notion of the Boys shouldn't be ruined in 2 minutes of the show. I'd still feel more comfortable if they didn't just let this go and actually adressed it to the fans.

I see what you are getting at Cicca and I feel the same way. I would, no, we would and should expect better from the boys. But I think that some of it was blown a little out of porportion. You have to remember that the show is edited and it may have looked that way but been another way.

LocaLxLove said it well. And remember it is very much reality TV, which is edited for entertainment. For example, their '2 rooms.' The rider sheet actually stated in the first place they only had one room, which was sectioned off into a green room, a makeup and hair section and a change room. (You can see it before the cowboy meets up with them) Then the cowboy guy comes and makes them look bad for demanding 2 rooms, when they never had 2 rooms. Then its edited with evil sounding music and the guys are all looking around at each other as if they're unhappy about it. Just consider that kinda stuff before riding the guys off completely.

I agree with OneLove. i got to see the show, and I don't think they were that bad, I think it was edited to make it so that the job would be harder on the celebrity contestant. The focus was not to be on Backstreet Boys, the whole show is about the Celebrity Apprentice. Let's remember that. so while watching it, I didn't see BSB being immature... I saw the country guy having to deal with his job duties and the show made it look like BSB was giving him a hard time which makes sense coz the focus is on the final two contestants competing not to be the fired on. I watched it to support the Boys and see them on tv, and I was glad I did coz they all looked great and it was funny to hear their lame comments. I don't think they were really being immature, i think they were acting to bring attention the whole purpose of the "apprentice" show, u know what i mean? Knowing the guys, they probably knew that they were gonna give these riders a hard time coz it is their job and they gotta keep it competitive for them, otherwise everything would be easy for the country guy and nothing it would defeat the purpose of taking on the challenge on the show.

Well, that's what I saw.... so please don't think less of the Backstreet Boys. one or two "edited" episodes shouldn't change a 15 year relationship with these guys.

In my opinion, I don't think they were bad at all. I think the editing made it look a lot worse. Compared to some artists who do charity events, the rider was pretty simple, and seems decent enough for them and their band.
