I have an idea.....
As mentioned on the BSB On All That post we need to find a way for younger people to discover and listen to BSB for the first time.
I have an idea where we could go on certian magazine sites like Bop and J14 and e-mail them requesting that they have BSB in their magazine's more often....
But we all need to agree on which mag we will write to because if we all write to different ones they will only get a couple e-mails about it, but if we all write to one they will get overloaded!!!!!
I think J14 would be a good idea because right now it's the one of the more popular ones.

Honestly, I don't think being in teenie-bopper mags are going to take them to the next generation. They may even be too old now for the mags to want them, just like TRL. However, their music speaks for itself. My daughter has always loved BSB (mostly Nick) but my son is 16 and is into indie-accoustic music and he plays guitar and writes music(listen to him at www. myspace.com/forgivenseldom). He has listened to BSB for months now because I flooded him with the music. I showed him my love for the band and my appreciation for the music and now he gets it. He may not admit it to his emo friends, but he plays BSB music on his guitar. That's how we lead the next generation. We give them the gift of true appreciation for the songs themselves.

i guess we all forgot about this or something...i don't think anyone has acually done this. we should email them right before school ends though so it can be in some summer issues and loads of teenagers will buy it so they have something to do!

once upon a time there was a girl named Summer. one day, this being when she was 12 years old, she came home from school, ran up to her room, opened the door and saw the most beautiful thing. the new BaCkStReEt BoYs c.d. "NeVeR gOnE."
i've been away for a while (my computer at work won't let me post here anymore!)...so i was wondering whatever happened to this idea?
did we all agree on j14 and people? and where exactly do we send these letters? how many of you actually did this yet? maybe we should coordinate it so it arrives around the same time (to make more an impact...instead of spreading it across a span of time)?
I agree we should email people to!
Oh, and taryn I'm not sure about people but you can email J14 from their website.

i understand w/ a-rok4ever, but i also would like to see them in magazines too. so whatever we all decide on will work w/ me. i mean, i think we need them in People magazine too because have u seen who's been on it: Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, New Kids On The Block...i like Miley and the JoBros. but some of the ppl they put on there are lame...

Well, I think it would be a little weird if they didn't want support from their fans.

They mentioned on a interview before how it's cool that older fans that have kids are interducing them like they are a whole new band, so it's creating a whole new genration of fans.
You don't have to write in if you don't want to but I like some of the other fans on here would like to see them in magazines more.
I'm not saying that you don't want to see them in magazines, but this is the only way since the mags aren't putting them in they need a little push.

Umm, I don't know who said it, but whoever did I kinda agree, what if BSB doesn't want to be in a magazine more cause they are happy now? Like they will like that we are showing support but what if they don't want it?

so here's what we're planning on doing: two magazines, one for the teens and one for the older people:
J14 and People.
so am i right?

and hey...i just want to say that i think writing to those pop magazines IS a good idea, but i was just wondering if the BOYS would appreciate attention from another magazine as well.
i want the younger fans to enjoy BSB as much as we do, but i think we also have to let the general public know about our boys as well, especially since they attract fans from ALL age groups.
so...anyone want to start a list of magazines for us to write to? and maybe post the address and a sample letter?
I agree with taryn. i mean, i'm sure BSB don't mind the new fans and the young age group... they love all their fans, old and new. but I would like to target readers of a mainstream magazine too. we could still do J-14 coz i agree a lot of the pop stars were in those kind mags... and pop is coming back! but it would be cool if we could catch the older audience too.... the ones who think they know but have no idea... like they know BSB existed but just don't realize they STILL exist 'n how great a group BSB is until they've read everywhere about it. know what i mean? I'm thinking... People or Entertainment Weekly, but there must be others to choose from too....

i really like everyone's enthusiam and determination to do something about this! but i'm wondering how much the guys want to be the target of this young population. maybe a more mainstream magazine like People, or something music related?!
Umm...I'm not sure about a younger-age group magazine, I don't know any.
My cousin's are 9 & 10 and they read the teen ones.
But we all defenitly agree on J14 to be the teen one?????
Because I want to start e-maling them soon!!!!!!!!!!

it's a good idea.... BSB were on the covers of J14 and were huge stars on there before when the boy bands were popular back in 1998 and 1999... so i dunno, maybe with more requests from the magazine's targeted age group they'll bring the Boys back in publicity. let's definitely go for it! we can even request in 2 magazines... one for the younger age group to capture the new, younger fans.... and another magazine that could possibly catch an older age group? anyone know of any good ones?
